7th International Chamber Music

Festival & Masterclass


Klasik Keyifler Cappadocia Summer Festival and Master Classes will take place between September 1st and 5th, 2017. This year's faculty includes Ellen Jewett, Özcan Ulucan, Önder Baloğlu, Tatjana Masurenko, and Peter Bruns


Rehearsals and classes led by internationally renowned faculty will take place in a restored Ottoman medresse surrounded by UNESCO World Heritage sites as well as magnificent otherworldly landscape, and concerts take place in underground caves and a Byzantine church. This year participants are invited to apply as string chamber music groups; duos, trios or quartets. Each participant will get 10 hours of chamber music coaching and a1 hour private lesson. The main emphasis will be on chamber music performance. Selected groups and individuals will also have a chance of performing with the faculty. Capacity for the workshop is 14 violins, 7 violas and 7 cellos.

Pre-formed string groups will have priority, but individual applicants not belonging to a group will be placed in ensembles and given repertoire to be prepared before this intensive course begins.

The course fee is 300 Euros including full-board accommodation (6 nights and 3 meals per day) in the college dorms. Application deadline is Aug 15th but priority will be given to early enrolment. The payment deadline is Aug 20th


Participants should make their own travel arrangements to arrive at Aug 31st and to leave at Sept 6th. Workshops will be held in the Cappadocia Vocational College, in Mustafapasha, Urgup, Nevsehir.
